Family Photos Done Right

smiling And saying “cheese” has officially been banned…

A newlywed couple walking on a paved road in the Hunter Valley during sunset, the bride holding a colorful bouquet of roses, wearing a white lace wedding gown, and the groom in a blue suit with a red boutonniere, smiling at each other.

Yes we do families!

…And they’re nothing like the awkward ones you’re imagining. There’s no pressure to perform, no standing in a line with fake smiles, and no tearing your hair out because the kids aren’t acting like professional models. Just a relaxed, playful atmosphere that feels more like hanging out than a photoshoot. It’s exactly the same approach that we use at weddings!

Less Posing, more Playing!

Instead of stiff poses and forced grins, we let your kids run, wriggle, climb, cuddle, and just be themselves — all while doing the things you love together. Go to the park, hang out in the backyard, bake cookies, play a game, or just take a walk somewhere special. Rather than stressing your heads off, it’s a chance to slow down, have a laugh, and simply enjoy being together.

Still got questions?

  • Most families worry about this — and it’s completely normal!

Just remember, most of us are conditioned to freeze, smile and pose the moment a camera appears in front of us. It looks awkward, feels awkward and everyone ends up stressing about how they look, rather than just being present in the moment.

The photos you love the most are almost always the candid, off-the-cuff ones — kids laughing, hugs, chaos and real connection. That’s the stuff you want to remember.

So instead of fanning the flames of awkwardness, we’re going guide you with simple, playful cues to help everyone interact naturally. Nothing posed, nothing forced, nothing fake.

  • First things first — don’t stress about the weather! A little drizzle or an overcast sky is never a problem, and if it’s really not ideal, we can always reschedule to a day that works better.

The weather rarely matters as much as you think it will.

In fact, a bit of rain can make a session feel playful and memorable — puddle splashes, umbrellas, and cozy cuddles can all make for great photos.

Just relax, have fun, and trust that whatever the sky does, we’ll make it work wonders.

  • For a typical family session, you can expect roughly 40 to 100+ photos — but there’s no limit.

The final number usually depends on how many people are involved and what you get up to during the session.

What you won’t get, however, is a bunch of filler shots. We focus on quality over quantity, so every image has a purpose.

We’ll have your photos ready in around 2–3 weeks, with a few sneak peeks arriving in your inbox while we’re working on them.

During that time, we’ll carefully curate and edit your images in our signature punchy, true-to-life style.

We’ll also set up your gallery and slideshow, and get the ball rolling on your Wall Art and Family Album!

  • Absolutely you can!

Every photo is delivered in full resolution, so you can download them straight from your gallery and print them however and wherever you like.

If the thought of basic retail prints makes you shudder (we get it), don’t worry — you’re covered with us.

You can order beautiful paper, canvas, metal, and acrylic prints directly from your gallery — all handcrafted by our world-class print lab, which completely blows any and all retail options completely out of the water.

You’ll notice the difference — big time!

  • First, send us a message through our contact form and we’ll check if your preferred date is available.

Next, we’ll arrange a quick chat — on FaceTime, Zoom or in person if you’re nearby. It’s a great chance to get to know each other and answer any questions you have.

If it feels like a good fit, we’ll send you a personalised booking portal where you can choose your package, sign your contract, and pay your deposit — all in one easy step.

Once that’s done, you’re all set!
